Engineering, Social Justice, and Sustainable Community Development

April 19, 2010 -- A new workshop summary from the National Academy of Engineering discusses engineering ethics at home and abroad, and the importance of protecting human welfare, ensuring social justice, and striving for environmental sustainability alongside the more often explicit goal of economic development. Workshop participants identified options for engineers, students, and professional societies to promote these goals.
