Action Needed to Combat Florida’s Citrus Greening Disease

March 23, 2010 -- Urgency, cooperation, and persistent management are needed among producers, government officials, and scientists while a plan to control citrus greening -- a disease that is threatening Florida citrus production -- is developed and implemented, says a new report from the National Research Council. Measures that could help sustain citrus production include improving insect control, removing affected trees, and developing disease-resistant trees.
