March 22, 2010 -- Tackling rising rates of cardiovascular disease in the developing world will require input from multiple partners -- members of the business community, health sector, national and local governments, international aid groups, and economic development agencies -- according to Promoting Cardiovascular Health in the Developing World: A Critical Challenge to Achieve Global Health, a new report from the Institute of Medicine. The report lays out challenges facing efforts to control and prevent heart and circulatory diseases worldwide and presents a vision for short- and long-term solutions.
